FTPRO Flow-through System

This state-of-the-art instrument performs fast, accurate DNA hybridization to identify the presence of a target molecule in a flexible sample size. Benefits include high efficiency, accurate results and low cost. The FTPRO is compatible with GenoFlow array kits.

What is it?

Invented and produced by DiagCor, this advanced flow-through hybridization instrument leads the market for speed, ease of use and accuracy in mid-resolution DNA analysis.

It is also more cost effective than other MDx platforms.

The DiagCor FTPRO detects and identifies the presence of target DNA in an amplified specimen by comparing it to an assay supplied in an instrument-compatible kit.

The device features multiplexing – the identification of multiple variations (genotypes) of a virus from a single specimen.

In a single reaction it can detect up to 33 target molecules.

Who is it for?

The DiagCor FTPRO is currently used in MDx research labs, healthcare institutions and MDx services labs around the world.

With compatible assays, the DiagCor FTPRO can be used for a wide range of medical, legal and food science.

Based on an open platform model, third parties are invited to develop assays for this device.

A range of assay kits are available for this flexible platform and new assays are continually under development.

Why is it different?

  • Highly efficient vacuum flow-through process reduces the time for DNA hybridization reactions from hours to minutes
  • Instrument can be used for multiplexing and genotyping. It arranges up to 35 targets in a single reaction
  • Overcomes the limitations caused by the diffusion of reagents typical in other membrane-based systems
  • No need for multiple water baths, shaking and liquid handling necessary with standard DNA hybridization and protein immunoblot applications
  • Just set the temperature and add the reagent solutions and let the device do the rest
  • Open platform approach means you can design your own assay and partner with DiagCor to distribute it

Advantages

Fast – Delivers results in approximately 35 minutes
Easy – Requires almost no training. Snap-in disposable cassettes delivers results that can be interpreted at a glance, or digitally via a laboratory information management system
Cost effective – Uses 6 times less reagent and requires less manpower
Flexible – Sample batch flexibility means no need for specimen batching. There are a wide range of assays available for this model
Dependable – Stringent temperature control facilitates single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) hybridization
Ergonomic – Designed for user comfort with optimal screen angles and instrument access

Need to know

This instrument requires consumable assay kits, developed, supplied and supported by DiagCor. We also make our expertise available to third parties wishing to develop assay kits and other MDx innovations.

  • Works with

    HPV Array Test Kit

Genotypes 33 HPV subtypes via flow-through hybridization assay from a single specimen. Fast and cost-effective, this is the first HPV test kit with universal probe. The kit obtains 100% proficiency in WHO HPV LabNet study

    HPV-HR Screening Test Kit

Fast, accurate, cost-effective identification of common high risk 16 and 18 HPV types and detects a further 15 high-risk types associated with a high risk of cervical cancer.

    STD Array Test Kit

From a single specimen, this fast and cost-effective flow-through hybridization assay kit detects 11 common STD pathogens.

    Thrombophilia Array Test Kit

Array test detects four human DNA mutation sites on a sample. For testing high-risk populations for venous thrombosis and women suffering from recurrent miscarriages.

    DR-MTB Array Test Kit

Test detects and genotypes tuberculosis variants resistant to rifampicin (RIF) and isoniazid (INH) in liquefied, decontaminated human respiratory specimens.

    HBV array test kit

Kit identifies eight HBV genotypes (A-H) from human serum specimens. It also detects the presence of rare genotypes through universal probe.

    HCV array test kit

Kit identifies six HCV genotypes (1-6), 1a, 1b subtypes and Q80K from human serum specimens. It also detects the presence of rare genotypes through universal probe.

    Beta thalassemia array test kit

This test detects 13 human DNA mutations in blood or oral buccal samples. For identifying the most relevant mutations in the beta globin genes in the Southern China region.

    β-thalassemia Array Test Kit (SEA)

Test detects 22 human beta globin mutations in blood or oral buccal samples. The kit identifies the most relevant mutations in the beta globin genes in the Southeast Asia region.
