GenoQuestTM JAK2 qPCR Assay

Kit identifies the V617F mutation implicated in essential thrombocythemia (ET), polycythemia vera (PV) and primary myelofibrosis (PMF).

What is it?

Identify the V617F mutation

Janus kinase 2 (JAK2) is a non-receptor tyrosine kinase which is especially important for controlling the production of blood cells from hematopoietic stem cells.

Somatic mutation V617F in JAK2 results in the production of a JAK2 protein that is constantly activated, which leads to the uncontrolled or abnormal proliferation of blood cells.

The most common conditions associated with the V617F mutation are:

  • Essential thrombocythemia (ET)
  • Polycythemia vera (PV)
  • Primary myelofibrosis (PMF)

The GenoQuest JAK2 real time PCR kit identifies the V617F mutation quickly and cost-effectively.

Fast and cost-effective, this highly sensitive molecular technique can detect as low as 0.1% of mutations present in 99.9% wild-type DNA background.

Who is it for?

This assay is especially valuable to oncology practitioners and researchers concerned with identifying and treating various pathologies, including essential thrombocythemia (ET), polycythemia vera (PV) and primary myelofibrosis (PMF).

It is intended for in vitro diagnostic use with the appropriate clinical laboratory settings, safety standards and properly trained personnel.

It may also be useful to oncology researchers.

Why is it different?

This highly sensitive kit allows selective site-specific detection of mutant DNA.

It can detect less than 0.1% mutant sequence copies against a background of 99.9% wild-type DNA.

The ready-to-use reagent is compatible with various real time PCR machines and delivers results 2.5 hours after extraction.

Advantages

Accurate – Highly sensitive test allows site-specific detection of less than 0.1% mutant sequence copies in a background of 99.9% wild-type DNA
Practical – Compatible with various real time PCR instruments
Fast – Delivers results in approximately 2.5 hours after extraction
Easy – Ready-to-use reagent
Cost effective – Highly price-competitive
